Everyone enjoying the walk.

Our second Greyhound Walk at Brindley Heath was a great success with 41 beautiful hounds and their owners taking part. Having a choice of walks proved to be popular with over half choosing to do the longer Blue Walk and the remainder choosing the shorter Red Walk. There was a terrific atmosphere with lots of people chatting and laughing and whole families taking part, some with children in pushchairs. People of all ages took part and, as you might expect, the hounds were the stars of the day, displaying their usual impeccable behaviour and enjoying every minute of the occasion. At the end of the walk they particularly enjoyed their sausages, as cooked by Alison, as a treat. There was a great deal of tail wagging and lip smacking going on The event raised 240, by way of a raffle, the sale of RGT Christmas cards, dog beds and general RGT merchandise.
The highlight of the day was seeing so many of our dogs, including several who have been rehomed in the last few weeks like Sonny, Kent and Sid (Brad), and a couple who were only rehomed on Friday - Kenny and Dolly (aka Ricky and Iris), and knowing that they are enjoying their lives in loving homes. This of course is our aim and makes everything worthwhile. It was also great to see new owners supporting our event. Many thanks to all those who took part and made our walk such a fantastic event.
