After the slow start to the year in terms of rehoming, as we said in last week’s news, things have picked up and this last week several hounds have found their new homes and families. These...

Thank goodness, at last we have 'Homers' (as we affectionately call families looking for a hound!) calling us and coming along to the kennels. It has been so quiet that we were all getting...

Hi my name is Milan. I have been in different kennels for a long time now and I've got very fed up with it all and I was misunderstood cause all I wanted was family of my own. I went to a foster home to see what it would be like and I loved every minute of it and this is what I learnt in the last week :
Being in a home is not scary at all and I soon relaxed and enjoyed the warm bed as you can see.
I don't mind sharing with another greyhound (my fosters had a boy hound, it was OK but I do prefer a girl).
I don't care much for other dogs when we are out but I was reminded I shouldn't behave like that so I am not as bad as I first was but if I don't see anything then I am brilliant on the lead.
I have good hearing and will let you know if I hear anything outside the house or anywhere else that I can't see.
I do sometimes talk with a high pitched voice.
I don't like people shouting very much and if I do something wrong and see a water spray I know I should stop doing it cause I don't like the water in my face.
I really like my food so don't leave any around cause I will eat it it is my only weakness
I really love to play with a squeaky toy and will run up and down for it for ages.
I am still young at heart so a firm hand will help me carry on learning.
I will gladly stand there and let you fuss me for hours and I really love it if you cuddle me.
I can be a little too playful and cause I dont like too much noise then I wouldn't like it very much if you had little ones.
If you want a fun loving yet very affectionate dog with a good appetite for life and you have a little patience to help me carry on learning how to be a little angel then go on you know you want take me HOME WITH YOU.
I will give you my heart and all I ask for in return (apart from some food) is a NICE BIG CUDDLE.
