Boxing Day Roadshow at Monmore Green Stadium

We had a wonderful roadshow on Boxing Day 2011 at the Stadium Fun Day Meeting where a willing team of volunteers, their pet hounds and members of the kennel team with hounds Kenni and Ruby having a day out meeting the public.

A colouring competition had been organised for the day and here are the winning entries:

In the over 8 category, the winner was Hadleigh Dodd of Tipton and he can be seen here collecting his prize of a "Homer" greyhound from Pixie and Cherry:

The winner of the Under 8 category was Brook Dalton from Wombourne with this entry:

A "Name the Homer" competition was also held with the name "Roxy" winning. Here is Lucy Simpson collecting her prize of a "Hope" greyhound from Cherry and Pixie.

The two kennel hounds that attended the day were Kenni and Ruby. They really enjoyed all the attention, sausages and cuddles that came their way. This little girl was absolutely besotted with Ruby and was getting her Mum to return to the trailer many times for a good cuddle with this lovely calm little greyhound:

The reception staff at the stadium also presented the trust with a huge collection of goodies that had been donated by racegoers in the Christmas hamper for the kennel hounds:

A wonderful total of £537 was collected in the pots on the day. Many thanks to all the racegoers that donated.
