Almost everything you need to know about looking after your greyhound
Like people, most dogs need a basic level of education and socialising to enable them to feel confident and behave in a socially acceptable manner in public.
Dog anxiety is a dog's inability to cope when left alone. Typical symptoms are howling & barking, scratching/chewing at furniture and fittings and even excreting around the house in your absence. In order to stop the 'bad' behaviour the dog needs to become more confident and secure in himself, and less dependent on you. You need to teach him this by changing the way you treat him in the house.
Why use an indoor kennel: To aid house training, for curing the consequences of separation anxiety (chewing, scratching), or to give the dog a necessary safety zone (i.e. to relax from children when he is tired). It is far removed from keeping a dog in an outside kennel, which just furthers his anxiety and compounds the problem until the dog ends up living outside all the time.
Our Greyhounds need all the help they can get! Help them by downloading our donation form. Its quick and easy to make a donation that could make a huge difference to greyhounds that come into our care.
At any one time we have greyhounds entrusted to our care who are unsuitable for placing in homes as pets. They will live in our kennels with no fear for their future and we want them to receive the best possible care. By joining our sponsor scheme, you can help ensure the rest of their natural lives will be lived out in comfortable and pleasant surroundings.
You can support our efforts by encouraging others to help, This flyer can be downloaded for display to make others more aware of who we are and what they can do the help us.
