Kennel News - 09 May 2010

Another busy week getting the hounds off their kennel beds to meet the public. On May Day Bank Holiday the trailer went to Monmore Stadium for the morning meeting. As usual plenty of youngsters found their way into the trailer to stroke the hounds. On Saturday we went to the Family Funday in Rugeley and on Sunday we went to Pets at Home in Cannock. Interest has picked up as it has been a fairly quiet start to the year, we have only just rehomed our 100th hound of 2010.
On Tuesday Alison went to meet a lovely lady called Mary White who lives in the village near the kennels. She has made bookmarks for us to sell for the hounds. They vary, but here is an example:-

If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains.

If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it.
If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time....

If you can honestly say that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, colour, religion or politics.
If you can love unconditionally without pressure or expectation.
Then my friend, you are almost as good as your hound!

These bookmarks will be available for sale during June for our fundraising Pounds for Hounds Campaign. We are busy getting everything ready now. The raffle tickets are at the printers and we will have the web page available very shortly with the exciting details. This will be our only big fund raiser this year and we are hoping all of you who read the kennel news each week will be willing to take part. With this in mind, please find out any unwanted gifts for tombolas or items we can sell in local papers or on e-bay during June.
