POUNDS4HOUNDS JUNE 2011 CAMPAIGN TOTAL: £11430.65

Our fundraising campaign, ‘Pounds 4 Hounds’, has finished for another year.  If you have any monies outstanding, please arrange to get them back to the kennels by Saturday 16th July so that we can calculate the Grand Total for 2011.  The Grand raffle draw was made on 30th June at the Stadium and the winners are as follows:-

1st Prize:    Ticket No: 3043 – Kiran Bassan - £250.00 cash

2nd Prize:    Ticket No: 2726 – Chris Walker – Tour around Big Ben Clock Tower

3rd Prize:     Ticket No: 2688 – Lisa Baskaville – Meal for 4 at Monmore Green Stadium

Events organised by our supporters - Our "Heroes for Hounds" are:

* Monmore Green Stadium kicked off this years campaign with the Bank Holiday meeting raising a wonderful £655.94

* Uplands School, Wolverhampton had a table top sale and raised £126.

* Dial a Dog Wash (Wolverhampton) is donating a sum for each dog washed during June - a fantastic £290.00 raised thanks to a donation or two.

* Steve Morgan, owner at MG is doing indoor kennels etc in the new isolation unit at cost price as donation to us. www.SteelFrameStrucuturesLtd.co.uk

* Julie wore the Homer costume at Birmingham Central Library and collected £101.87

* Cavan Vets donated £50.00 for the blood donation given by kennel hound Gus - what a hero!

* Mel raised £31.00 with a cake sale at work.

* Adam raised £40.00 sponsor money at the Aldridge 10k run.

* Grant ....The Fat Vat Man raised £35 on the Aldridge run.

* Zoe & Zac Banner - At our school (Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta) we have done a Race for Life with all the proceeds to go to charity in memory of our sister Megan.  The whole school collected sponsors and after a short memorial service we ran around our school field as many times as we could.  We collected £660 and have divided this between Meg’s favourite charities.  We have purchased a tree from the Wildlife Trust at Wolseley Bridge Nature Reserve and a plaque will be placed in front of it with her name on it.  Some of the money will go to the TCT (Teenage Cancer Trust) at Birmingham Children’s Hospital who looked after Meg, and the remaining £250 we would like to donate to you as Meg loved her greyhounds so much.  Hope you will find it useful.

* Jim Woods, Racing Manager at Monmore Green Stadium, for giving us a cheque for £1000 from the RGT Golf Day he organised

Volunteers from the branch will be attending some race meetings at Monmore Green Stadium to sell raffle tickets during June - details will be in the kennels news.
